Jos South Local Government Council has convened a crucial stakeholders’ engagement aimed at fostering peace and security in the area.

The meeting, an initiative of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Silas Patrick Dung, brought together heads of security agencies, religious leaders, traditional rulers including District Heads, Village Heads, MACBAN, and all the Ardos in Jos South.

In his opening remarks, the Executive Chairman emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration in maintaining peace, particularly as the farming season approaches. He described peace as “priceless,” stressing that no amount of time, resources, or effort should be spared in ensuring the safety and harmony of residents.

The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to share insights, offer recommendations, and strategize on ways to enhance security and peaceful coexistence in Jos South.

Hon. Dung, who serves as Deputy ALGON Chairman, emphasized the need for community leaders to relay key resolutions from the meeting to their people, warning that local leadership would be held accountable for any security breaches in their domains.

The engagement reflects the council’s commitment to proactive measures in safeguarding lives and property while promoting mutual understanding among residents.
